The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication on Monday launched Digital Skill Development Programme, which will play an important role in raising awareness and promoting the development of digital skills with six higher education institutions.
The launching ceremony was held under the presidency of H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunication, representatives from higher education institutions in Cambodia, and private sectors.
The Digital Skill Development Programme has three main principles, including: the participation in the implementation of the digital economic and social policy framework of Cambodia Digital 2021-2035 and the policy of the Cambodian Digital Government 2022-2035; to improve the qualification standards of Vocational education related to digital technology; and supporting the process of developing digital human capital through funding for the development of digital skills and the use of digital technologies for education.
The ministry developed the Digital Skills Development Programme that will allow students who cannot afford tuition to apply for an interest-free scholarship for a bachelor's degree in digital technology at the programme's partner higher education institutions, H.E. Chea Vandeth said.
MPTC and the higher education partnership is a new step for the ministry in continuing to develop human resources in the field of digital technology and human capital development plans that contribute to the digital revolution, he added.
The Digital Skills Development Programme will be successful and fruitful return of digital human capital, an active force in building a digital economy and society towards achieving the vision of Cambodia 2050, said H.E. Minister.
