MPWT Seeks UK’s Support to Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport

The Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has sought support from the United Kingdom to the Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport.

In a farewell meeting with outgoing British Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Ms. Tina Redshaw at the ministry office on Aug. 17, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of MPWT, asked the UK to consider assisting the institute’s functioning and to send professors to train Cambodian engineers so that they have enough capacity to contribute to the country’s infrastructure development.

For her part, H.E. Ms. Tina Redshaw mentioned about UK’s short-term scholarships in virtual and physical format.

According to the outgoing diplomat, the scholarships will be provided through the ASEAN Sustainable Leadership in Infrastructure Programme (ASLIP).

ASLIP, a modular course for ASEAN officials with a focus on pre-procurement and upstream infrastructure planning, was unveiled during the UK-ASEAN Sustainable Leadereship in Infrastructure Conference held online and in-person in Singapore on Mar. 29, 2022.
