MRD Preparing Strategic Plan for Rural Infrastructure Development

Phnom penh: H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, chaired a meeting in Phnom Penh on Mar. 11 to discuss the preparation of a Strategic Plan for Rural Infrastructure Development. The meeting was attended by senior and technical officials of the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD).

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, participants reviewed and discussed the formulation of the strategic plan to ensure it is comprehensive and effective, in line with the Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1, the National Policy on Rural Development 2025-2035, and the Rural Development Strategic Plan 2024-2028 of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

The Ministry has been focusing on the development and maintenance of resilient rural infrastructure, particularly by improving quality, strengthening climate resilience, and ensuring the sustainable maintenance of rural roads. These efforts aim to facilitate access to public services, improve the transport of agricultural products, expand economic opportunities, and promote sustainable development in rural areas, aiming to contribute to national development.
