NA Second Vice President Provides Housing for Elderly in Prey Veng

Prey veng: H.E. Vong Sauth, the Second Vice President of the National Assembly, handed over a newly constructed house to a 92-year-old woman residing in Kamchay Mear district and inspected another house under construction for an elderly woman.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the concrete house, built in the traditional krapeu har style with a corrugated cement roof, measures 4.5 metres by 8.5 metres. The recipient, Sok San, lives in extreme poverty with no support network in Cheach Thbong village, Cheach commune.

Accompanied by his spouse Heng Pou, H.E. Vong Sauth also visited a construction site in Tuol Angkrang village, where another house is being built for Nhem Neun, a 73-year-old woman facing similar hardships. Volunteer workers, including local residents and village defence forces, are constructing the house under the guidance of skilled technicians.

H.E. Vong Sauth stated that the selection process for the recipients of the donated houses is managed by village and commune authorities, with community residents voting to determine those most in need. The sites visited on Wednesday are the fourth and fifth houses funded by the Second Vice President and his wife since 2023.

The couple has pledged to continue building concrete houses for the underprivileged in every village within Cheach commune. These humanitarian efforts not only provide shelter but also embody a spirit of generosity and reflect a commitment to ensuring no citizen is left behind. This initiative contributes significantly to improving local living standards in alignment with the social protection policies of the Royal Government.
