Siem reap: Over 1,700 national and international runners are set to participate in the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail in Siem Reap province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event will take place on January 24, and the organizing process is proceeding smoothly with the support of the Siem Reap Provincial Authority, the APSARA National Authority, the Angkor Foundation, and other relevant bodies to ensure safety and order.
The participation numbers indicate a strong international interest in the Angkor Ultra Trail, particularly with the increase in athletes joining the 100-kilometer race. H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), noted the growth in participation, especially in the 100-kilometer obstacle course, reflecting the well-being of participants.
The participants include over 500 runners from Cambodia and more than 500 from France. Additionally, runners from other countries such as the United States, England, Japan, and China will be joining the event. The 9th Angkor Ultra Trail will feature six events: 8km, 18km, 32km, 42km, 64km, and 100km. The event will be inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the NOCC.
