Phnom penh: The National Employment Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has been organising job fairs in five major provinces to offer more than 80,000 job opportunities in the industrial, service, and agricultural sectors to Cambodian workers returning from Thailand.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Sun Mesa, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, stated that a job fair was already held in Battambang province from Oct. 3 to 5, during which many workers were recruited. This weekend, from Oct. 10 to 12, another job fair will take place in Banteay Meanchey province, followed by three more - in Siem Reap province from Oct. 17 to 19, and in Prey Veng and Kampong Thom provinces from Oct. 24 to 26.
The spokesperson called on Cambodian workers returning from Thailand who have not yet found employment to attend these fairs and take advantage of the available local job opportunities with multiple benefits. He affirmed that job seekers can apply and participate in interviews on the spot without delay.
Those who are unable to attend the job fairs can contact Hotline 1297 or visit the official social media pages of the Minister of Labour, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, and the Ministry's Spokesperson for further information.
In addition to immediate job opportunities, workers will have the chance to learn up to 45 technical and vocational skills free of charge at technical and vocational education and training institutions across the country, H.E. Sun Mesa underlined, adding that participants will also receive information about the benefits of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), including occupational risk coverage, health care, and pensions once they start working.
