Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has invited the public, particularly small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) operators, to share their views and recommendations to help the Royal Government formulate more effective policies to strengthen the sector. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Premier released a message today, emphasizing his openness to public suggestions in the spirit of collaboration for the national interest. He highlighted the importance of SMEs as a driver of economic growth and job creation in Cambodia. Successive Royal Governments have introduced various policies to promote the development of this sector, and the current government continues to implement initiatives to support the establishment and operation of SMEs. While recognizing the progress made, the Prime Minister acknowledged that challenges remain in strengthening the SME sector. He emphasized the increasing significance of SMEs as Cambodia aims to enhance domestic production and reduce depen dency on imports. To support these goals, Samdech Thipadei has tasked H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, with leading efforts to develop urgent measures addressing existing challenges for SMEs. The Prime Minister assured that the Royal Government conducts thorough studies and consultations with SME representatives and relevant stakeholders before implementing new policies. He encouraged the public, especially SME owners, to provide feedback on sector challenges and propose practical solutions. According to Samdech Thipadei, such input will be crucial for the Royal Government in formulating more targeted and effective measures to meet the needs of Cambodia's SMEs.
