PM Says Territory and People Are Royal Government’s Top Priority

Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed that the protection of national territory and the well-being of the people remain the highest priorities of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei stated during a gathering with 3,020 students who recently achieved Grade A in the baccalaureate examination and those who earned Level 3 Technical and Vocational Diplomas that the territory and people have always been and will continue to be the main priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The event took place at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister urged fellow Cambodians to place their trust in the Royal Government, acknowledging the physical and mental challenges they face. He emphasized the importance of remaining strong during difficult times for the sake of the nation and reiterated that Cambodians are best suited to bolster their own country.

Samdech Thipadei addressed the Cambodia-Thailand border issue, stating that the Royal Government's decisions are carefully balanced, responsible, and firm, aimed at benefiting the nation and its people. He highlighted that Cambodians must depend on their unity and determination, as external assistance is limited compared to what they can achieve themselves.

He reiterated Cambodia's position on the Cambodia-Thailand border, emphasizing that it is an international boundary protected by international law, specifically the United Nations Charter. Cambodia is committed to safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity using appropriate means in line with international law.

Samdech Thipadei stressed that Cambodia does not recognise any boundary line changes resulting from force and is dedicated to resolving border disputes peacefully. The Kingdom will rely on international law and mutually agreed documents with Thailand, particularly through the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) mechanism, to ensure resolution accuracy and fairness.
