Royal Palace Ministry Condemns Sam Rainsy’s Comment on RFA

The Ministry of the Royal Palace today issued a statement in reaction to the comment made by the self-imposed exile opposition leader, Sam Rainsy, on Radio Free Asia (RFA).

In an interview with RFA on Sept. 12, Sam Rainsy used very rude words against His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, well respected and loved by the whole Cambodian people.

The Ministry of the Royal Palace announced to condemn Sam Rainsy, a man with traitorous characteristics, who always uses bad words affecting the fame of His Majesty the King, who fulfills his supreme role as the symbol of national unity and sustainability, underlined the statement.

Thanks to this noble role, the Cambodian society is enjoying happiness, peace and development under the leadership of the Royal Government, it added.

On the same day, Minister of Justice H.E. Ang Vong Vathana issued an injunction to the Municipal Court of Phnom Penh prosecutor to take legal action against Sam Rainsy for insulting His Majesty the King.
