Geneva: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, attended a welcome reception on July 27 hosted by Hon. Ms. Maja Riniker, President of the National Council of Switzerland at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the reception was held in honour of women Speakers from around 30 countries. It took place on the eve of the 15th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament and the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, which will be officially opened on July 28-29, 2025.
During the dinner, Samdech Khuon Sudary engaged in informal bilateral exchanges with several parliamentary leaders from around the world, including the Speakers of the Parliaments of Canada, Switzerland, and Azerbaijan. These interactions served as a valuable platform for fostering closer ties, promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation, and building sustainable peace between Cambodia and other countries.
Accompanying Samdech Khuon Sudary at the event were senior members of the Cambodian delegation, including H.E. Ms. Lork Kheng, Chairwoman of the Commission on Public Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Rehabilitation, Labour, Vocational Training, and Women's Affairs of the National Assembly, and H.E. Ms. Chan Sotheavy, Chairwoman of the Commission on Legislation and Justice of the Senate of Cambodia.
