Samdech Techo Hun Sen Escorts King Norodom Sihamoni to Surgery in Beijing

Beijing: Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, alongside his sons H.E. Hun Many and H.E. Hun Manith, personally escorted His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni to the operating room on Monday morning in Beijing, China.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a message posted by Samdech Techo Hun Sen on his official Facebook page confirmed that the surgery conducted by Chinese doctors was successful. After the procedure, His Majesty regained consciousness and is currently under close medical observation.

Samdech Techo conveyed that His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Mother expressed their gratitude to Buddhist monks and the Cambodian people for their prayers and well wishes for the King's recovery. Additionally, he extended thanks to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Government of the People's Republic of China for their care and attention to the King's health.

A special appreciation was directed towards the medical team in Beijing for successfully and safely conducting the surgery for the beloved Cambodian monarch. Samdech Techo further disclosed that both he and his sons arrived in Beijing on April 17, specifically to support the King and Queen Mother during this challenging time, emphasizing that the King's health holds deep significance for the entire nation.

He added that contingent upon His Majesty's continued recovery, he plans to return to Cambodia on April 22.
