Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has extended an invitation to the President of the Republic of Benin to visit Cambodia during the Francophonie Summit, which Cambodia will host in November this year.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the invitation was extended during a courtesy meeting between Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Franck E. W. Adjagba, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to Cambodia, at the Senate's Solidarity Palace on Tuesday morning.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, speaking on behalf of His Majesty the King of Cambodia, congratulated H.E. Adjagba on his new role as Ambassador to Cambodia. He expressed confidence in the ambassador's potential to further strengthen and expand the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Benin.
Ambassador Adjagba, in response, expressed his gratitude to Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the audience to present his credentials. He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the cooperation and ties between Benin and Cambodia.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled his official visit to Benin in 1983, during his tenure as Cambodia's Foreign Minister, noting that Benin had warmly welcomed Cambodia during a period of international sanctions and diplomatic isolation. He described this visit as a significant milestone that contributed to the strengthening of friendship between the two countries.
On this occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended the invitation to the President of Benin to attend the upcoming Francophonie Summit in Cambodia. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
