Kuala lumpur: The Cambodian and Thai secretariat teams have agreed on the content of the draft Joint Statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting, scheduled for Dec. 27, 2025. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the consensus was reached during the three-day GBC Secretariat Meeting which concluded last night, at 10:50 p.m. at Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint. This location is situated between Pailin province of Cambodia and Chanthaburi province of Thailand, and the meeting saw participation from observers of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) from both Cambodia and Thailand. The Cambodian delegation was led by Maj. Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, while the Thai delegation was headed by Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat. This secretariat-level meeting serves as the essential technical preparation for the 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand GBC Meeting, which is to be co-chaired by the Defence Ministers of both countries.
