Seeds Reserved for Distribution to Farmers after Floodwaters Recede

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon said that the ministry has reserved seeds to be distributed free-of-charge to farmers for their cultivation in the post-flood period.

The remarks were made after the ministry commissioned line officials to flood-hit provinces to value the affected farmland.

H.E. Veng Sakhon asked all affected farmers not to worry about the lack of seeds since the ministry has already reserved enough amount of them for distribution.

According to the National Committee for Disaster Management, flash floods have so far hit 19 provinces and capital city. As of yesterday evening, a total of 247,408 hectares of rice fields and 82,424 hectares of subsidiary crops have been under floodwater.
