Senate President Highlights MinebeaMitsumi’s Impact on Cambodia’s Economy

Phnom penh: Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen stated that MinebeaMitsumi's ongoing success in Cambodia is a testament to the country's resilience and the company's dedication to its operations within the Kingdom.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Techo Hun Sen shared these insights during a meeting with Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi Co., Ltd., and his team at the Senate's Solidarity Palace on Tuesday morning. The meeting served as an opportunity for the Senate President to express his appreciation for MinebeaMitsumi's robust presence and continued investment in Cambodia.

Mr. Kainuma expressed his gratitude to Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the meeting and reminisced about their last encounter on July 22, 2025, before the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict. Despite some transportation challenges due to the conflict, MinebeaMitsumi's operations in Cambodia have remained uninterrupted, underscoring the resilience of the Cambodian investment climate.

During the meeting, Mr. Kainuma provided an update on MinebeaMitsumi's progress, highlighting the establishment of two factories - one in the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone and another in Pursat province. These operations have significantly contributed to job creation. Additionally, the company is developing a solar-powered electricity plant in Pursat and is exploring further investment opportunities in Cambodia.

Despite recent concerns about online scam-related crimes and the border conflict, Mr. Kainuma expressed confidence in Cambodia's investment environment, noting that MinebeaMitsumi has been successfully operating in the country for nearly 15 years.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen conveyed his satisfaction with the company's achievements and expressed optimism about the unaffected investment and operations amid the border situation. He encouraged MinebeaMitsumi to continue its investment and assured Mr. Kainuma of the Royal Government of Cambodia's support.

The Senate President acknowledged MinebeaMitsumi's historical collaboration with the Cambodian government under his leadership and pointed out that the company now operates under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. Both leaders are recognized for their economic expertise, contributing to the enhancement of Cambodia's investment environment.
