Bangkok: Thai forces have continued their aggressive attacks against Cambodia in an attempt to undermine national unity and achieve their objectives on the ground, but they have failed, said H.E. Pen Bona, Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit. Speaking at a press briefing this evening, H.E. Pen Bona said that in pursuit of their goals, Thai forces have employed various tactics and modern weapons; however, they have been unable to break the spirit of the Cambodian armed forces and the Cambodian people.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both the people and the armed forces have maintained strong unity in fulfilling their respective duties on all fronts, with citizens actively participating in the national effort to defend the country against Thailand's aggressive military operations. 'This reflects the strong national defence of Cambodia,' he emphasised.
For her part, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, said that Thai forces have carried out attacks across multiple battlefields in Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, and Pursat provinces, but Cambodian forces continue to stand firm against Thailand's acts of aggression. The spokeswoman called on Thai forces to immediately cease all aggressive actions, stop spreading false information that distorts the truth, and end indiscriminate attacks, particularly those targeting civilian communities, civilian infrastructure, and historical sites, which are invaluable cultural assets not only for Cambodia but for all of humankind.
