Sports and Tournaments Put on Hold due to COVID-19 Threat

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia has put on hold sports and tournaments due to COVID-19 threat driven by the Feb. 20 cluster infection incident.


The postponement of the sport events was notified through separate circulars issued recently by competent authorities, as some on-going football tournaments are not allowed for audiences at the site.


The temporarily delayed sport events include Cambodian Women’s League and U15, U18 Championship, Mar. 8 women’s running and sports, and all sport-related gathering and group training are also banned.


Cambodia’s 3rd COVID-19 cluster infection officially announced on Feb. 20 drove the registered detections in the country to 741 yesterday, and over 70 hotspots traced were reported.
