Phnom Penh:Construction of the VVIP passenger terminal at Techo International Airport is nearly complete, with an estimated 99 percent of the work finished. The terminal is set to be officially inaugurated in early November, in time for Cambodia to host the 20th Francophonie Summit.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), led a site inspection of the terminal on Friday. The delegation included senior officials, airport leaders, technical experts, and executives from Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. (CAIC), who confirmed that the final touches are on track for completion by the first week of November.

The VVIP terminal spans nearly seven hectares and features 17 dedicated VVIP suites, designed to accommodate world leaders, international dignitaries, and official state delegations. This facility marks a significant advancement in Cambodia's aviation infrastructure, enhancing its ability to host major international diplomatic events. Once operational, the terminal will serve as the primary entry point for foreign leaders and delegations attending the upcoming summit and future state missions.
