Thai Aggressors Fire At Least 360 Shells into Civilian Villages in Banteay Meanchey Province

Banteay meanchey: Thai aggressive forces today fired at least 360 shells, targeting two villages located in O'Beichoan commune, O'Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, according to the Ministry of National Defence.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Thai military launched approximately 250 shells into the area of Chouk Chey village, and 110 other shells into the area of Prey Chan village, as reported by the Ministry. These shells do not include the 40 bombs dropped by Thai F-16 fighter jets on Chouk Chey this morning, from 6:08 a.m. to 7:15 a.m., it added.

The actions are described as indiscriminate attacks by the Thai military and represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law, the Ministry stated.

The Ministry reaffirmed that Cambodian forces are continuing to monitor the situation closely and remain vigilant in fulfilling their role of firmly protecting Cambodia's territorial integrity and its people.
