Thai F-16 Fighter Jets Bomb Serei Sophorn in Cambodia

Phnom penh: Serei Sophorn, the capital city of Banteay Meanchey province and the fourth most populous city in Cambodia, was bombed this afternoon by Thai F-16 fighter jets, according to news releases from the Ministry of National Defence. The ministry reported that at 2:32 p.m., two bombs were dropped on the provincial city, followed by another bomb at 2:45 p.m.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, following the attacks, Cambodian forces have continued to closely monitor the situation. They remain strong, resolute, and fully vigilant in fulfilling their duties to protect Cambodia's territorial integrity against acts of aggression.

Serei Sophorn is located approximately 46 kilometres from Poipet, a Cambodian border city near Thailand, and about 360 kilometres from Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The three bombs were dropped after Thai forces earlier launched two bombs on Poipet city at 11:06 a.m. on the same day.
