Banteay meanchey: The Ministry of National Defence reported that Thai military forces continued their aggressive actions against Cambodian forces along the Cambodia-Thailand border under Military Region 5 between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2025. The incidents resulted in significant military engagement and tension in the region.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the hostilities began at 9:52 a.m. when Thai forces launched shelling into Prey Chan village, located in O'Beichoan commune, O'Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province. The situation escalated when, at 10:36 a.m., two bombs were dropped by Thai F-16 fighter jets on ThmSr Sen village in Nimith commune, O' Chrov district.
Further intensifying the confrontation, Thai F-16 fighter jets were observed flying over O'Beichoan commune at 10:38 a.m., indicating an ongoing military presence in the area. Shortly after, at 10:58 a.m., Thai reconnaissance drones were deployed to monitor the situation over O'Beichoan commune, suggesting a strategic military assessment of the area.
The tension continued to rise as, at 11:20 a.m., Thai infantry forces attempted to advance toward the forward area of Boeung Trakuon. The advance was reportedly a tactical move to gain a strategic foothold in the region. Subsequently, at 11:55 a.m., Thai forces resumed shelling in Prey Chan village, further exacerbating the conflict.
The conflict reached another peak at 12:25 p.m. when additional shelling targeted Boeung Trakuon area in Kok Romeat commune, Thmar Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province. This series of aggressive actions has heightened concerns over the stability and security along the border, drawing attention to the ongoing tensions between the two nations.
