Cambodia inaugurated here yesterday Thalias Assessment Centre for Tourism Professionals in Food Production.
Organised at Topaz Restaurant with the participation of representatives of national and international organisations, tourism professional training schools, national trainers, national evaluators and food production professionals, the inauguration ceremony was presided over by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Minister spoke highly of the initiative taken by the Thalias Group in cooperation with Assist, a German organisation, underlining that Cambodia now has a reliable centre for chef assessment in accordance with the national and ASEAN mechanisms.
The initiative is also in line with the National Development Plan in Tourism for 2017-2025, he added.
The tourism minister took the opportunity to invite all stakeholders, in particular the Topaz Restaurant and all chefs, to participate in the First International Conference on Cambodia Gastronomy and Food Tourism scheduled to take place on Aug. 21, 2019 at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
