Their Majesties the King and Queen Mother Back Home after Medical Treatment in China

Phnom penh: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have returned to Cambodia after undergoing medical check-ups and treatment in Beijing since February. They were warmly welcomed at Techo International Airport by key figures including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, who is also the President of the Cambodian Red Cross. Other notable figures, such as National Assembly President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his spouse, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, along with senior officials, were present to greet Their Majesties. Additionally, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin was in attendance.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a press release from the Ministry of the Royal Palace detailed that His Majesty underwent over three months of medical treatment, surgery, and close supervision at the Royal Residence in Beijing. His care was managed by senior medical specialists and staff in the Chinese capital. The Ministry highlighted that His Majesty's health has shown steady improvement throughout this period.

Following the advice of the medical team in Beijing, His Majesty has authorised ongoing health monitoring and care by doctors at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh upon his return. In a message commemorating Her Majesty the Queen Mother's 90th birthday on June 18, Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping reiterated China's commitment to the health of the Cambodian monarchs, promising to continue providing excellent medical care for their check-ups and recuperation in China.
