This Year’s Sea Festival to Be Held in Kampot

The annual Sea Festival is going to take place this year in Kampot province. The Ministry of Tourism and the provincial authorities are working together to organise a more attractive and joyful event.

H.E. Thong Khon, Minister to Tourism, who chaired a preparatory meeting early this week at Kampot Provincial Hall, suggested Kampot provincial authorities prepare for Food Street, speed up the renovation of local infrastructure, organise local products’ fair, well manage the environment and waste issues, etc.

The Sea Festival 2019, the 8th of its kind, is scheduled to be held in December.

Last year, the Sea Festival in Koh Kong province attracted 350,000 domestic and international tourists. There were many interesting programmes such as sports competitions–triathlon, wrestling, Khmer boxing, sailing, jet-ski … –sport parade, trade fair, concert, art performances and so on.

Sea Festival is held since 2011 on a rotating basis in the four coastal provinces of Cambodia, including Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong and Kampot. Stretching in the length of 450 kilometres in the four provinces, Cambodia’s coastline was recognised as a world most beautiful bay in May 2011.
