Phnom penh: Three animal feed production companies, namely Khmer Fresh Mill (KFM) Co., Ltd., GREENFEED Cambodia Co., Ltd., and Dangkhao Pang Animal Feed Enterprise, have entered into cooperation memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to purchase agricultural produce such as red maize, cassava, and other local raw materials for animal feed production. The MoU signing ceremony was held here this morning under the presidency of H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, under the MoUs, the three companies will annually purchase 54,000 tonnes of red maize, 13,000 tonnes of cassava, 12,800 tonnes of broken rice, and 30,000 tonnes of rice husk. H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul emphasized the critical role and involvement of the private sector, particularly all animal feed production companies in Cambodia, in local product consumption and processing promotion. This initiative aims to boost productivity, enhance agricultural supplies, and increase business opportunities, contributing to augmenting incomes and improving the livelihoods of local farmers.
The minister expressed gratitude to all animal feed producers in Cambodia for their ongoing close and active cooperation with the Royal Government, especially the Ministry of Commerce. She instructed the Ministry's working group to continue collaborating with relevant ministries and institutions on planning cultivation and purchasing agricultural produce for animal feed production. This will be achieved through the formulation of matching between silo companies or community farmers and animal feed producers, with a focus on compliance with quality requirements to ensure stable supply and orders, and safety for consumers.
