Phnom penh: Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak recently engaged in a working discussion with a delegation from the CEO Institute, led by Chairman Mr. Om Sengbora, accompanied by 70 members. This meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the CEO Institute to develop human resources and promote Cambodia's tourism sector.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussion underscored the Ministry's strategies aimed at building a competitive and sustainable tourism industry, with a particular emphasis on developing skilled and high-quality human resources. H.E. Huot Hak highlighted these strategies during the meeting.
Mr. Om Sengbora, representing the CEO Institute, detailed the organization's role and activities in setting standards for tourism businesses and enhancing the capacity of tourism entrepreneurs in Cambodia. He emphasized the Institute's commitment to providing education and professional training to both youth and industry professionals, aligning with labor market demands and supporting national economic growth.
As part of the discussions, Mr. Om Sengbora proposed the exploration of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the 'Khmer Must Be Strong' campaign. This proposal aims to further reinforce and sustain the tourism sector. Both parties also considered organizing training programs, research initiatives, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance service quality and boost Cambodia's appeal to domestic and international tourists.
This meeting represents a significant step in fostering collaboration between the public, private, and education sectors, contributing to the continued growth of Cambodia's tourism industry.
