Phnom penh: Turkish Ambassador H.E. ‚¬Å¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦€š¬…€œlk KOCAEFE visited O'Chrov district to deliver humanitarian aid from the Turkish government to displaced persons in the border area.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Ambassador Kocaefe was welcomed by Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey, Mr. LY Sovannarith, and Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. TY Nitor, at the Chan Sy Samaki Rattanaram Pagoda, where a makeshift shelter is located. The Deputy Governor briefed the Ambassador on the border situation and conditions at the shelter, expressing gratitude for Turkey's contributions.
Ambassador Kocaefe conveyed the Turkish people's best wishes and delivered donations from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Trkiye. The aid package included food, solar lights, blankets, mosquito nets, hygiene articles, and medication. Ambassador Kocaefe expressed hope that these contributions would alleviate some difficulties faced by displaced persons and highlighted Trkiye's support for peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Ambassador also praised the Joint Declaration signed in Kuala Lumpur between Cambodia and Thailand, expressing confidence that it would contribute to regional peace and stability in Southeast Asia. She emphasized the growing relationship between Trkiye and Cambodia, stating that despite geographical distance, the two countries are forming closer bonds and understanding, as evidenced by the Turkish Embassy's presence and aid efforts.
