U.S. Welcomes Cambodia-Thailand Ceasefire

Washington: The U.S. Secretary of State, Honorable Marco Rubio, praised the ceasefire agreement signed between Cambodia and Thailand at the 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting. The ceasefire aims to halt hostilities along the shared border of the two nations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the United States has expressed its support for the ceasefire announcement and emphasized the importance of both countries adhering to this commitment. The U.S. encourages Cambodia and Thailand to fully implement the terms of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords to ensure lasting peace.

The U.S. has been actively involved in facilitating the peace process following the outbreak of armed clashes between Cambodia and Thailand on July 24, 2025. This involvement underscores the U.S.'s commitment to promoting stability and peace in the region.
