Vilnius: The presidents of the three Baltic states convened with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Vilnius to deliberate on regional security, the fortification of the European Union's eastern border, and the enhancement of Europe's defense capabilities amid escalating geopolitical tensions.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT), the discussions centered on reinforcing air defense and counter-drone capabilities, improving the protection of critical infrastructure, boosting military mobility, and advancing the development of the European defense industry. The leaders underscored the urgency of fortifying security along the EU's eastern frontier, with specific focus on the European Union's Eastern Flank Watch initiative.
This initiative is designed to elevate regional defense readiness through enhanced airspace surveillance, upgraded counter-drone systems, improved air defense networks, and greater situational awareness across eastern member states.
