Kampot:More than 2,000 tourists from 26 countries participated in the Bokor Mountain Trail 2026, themed 'Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain,' held on October 4 in Kampot province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was presided over by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot province. It was a part of the 2026 Green Season Tourism Event in the Coastal Region, which took place from October 2 to 4, involving other coastal provinces such as Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong.
The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Kampot Provincial Administration, organized the event to promote green and sports tourism destinations, aiming to improve local community livelihoods. H.E. Huot Hak emphasized the rich tourism potential of Kampot and the importance of promoting Cambodia's coastal provinces to international visitors.
The event also included various activities, such as cooking competitions and exhibitions of local products. The Minister attributed Cambodia's development in multiple sectors to the country's peace, crediting former Prime Minister Hun Sen and current Prime Minister Hun Manet for maintaining stability and fostering national progress in tourism.
H.E. Huot Hak commended the Kampot Provincial Administration for its initiatives under Governor Mao Thonin, which have enhanced tourism products and increased visitor numbers to the province.
