Cambodia and Canada Discuss Future of Bilateral Trade Relations

Yaound©: H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, met with H.E. Maninder Sidhu, Canada's Minister of International Trade, in Yaound©, Cameroon, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral trade relations between the two nations. The discussions also covered the ongoing negotiations for the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA), with both parties expressing optimism that these negotiations will be concluded by the end of 2026.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ministers exchanged views on the expected outcomes of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14), which is currently taking place in Yaound©. They specifically focused on key issues such as e-commerce, WTO reform, and trade and development, which are anticipated to be central topics at the conference.

H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul is in Yaound© to attend the WTO MC14, which officially opened on March 26. Besides engaging in bilateral talks, she participated in the high-level launch of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) Phase Three, where she delivered welcome remarks. The event was co-hosted by Cambodia alongside the United Arab Emirates and the EIF Executive Secretariat.
