Cambodia Expresses Grave Concern Over Humanitarian Crisis at ASEAN Meeting

Kuala lumpur: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has expressed concern over the worsening humanitarian situation affecting nearly half a million displaced Cambodians.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this concern was shared during a meeting with H.E. Dr. KAO Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, which focused on the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn further emphasized Cambodia's strong commitment to promoting shared peace, security, and prosperity in the region. This commitment aligns with the ASEAN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law and is guided by a spirit of constructive engagement with all ASEAN Member States and partners.

In addition to the meeting with the Secretary-General, H.E. Prak Sokhonn held bilateral discussions with his Singaporean, Lao, and Philippine counterparts. These discussions aimed to strengthen cooperation and promote essential confidence-building measures.
