Phnom penh: Former Cambodian Prime Minister and ruling party leader Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met with a senior Chinese Communist Party (CPC) official on Monday to deepen ties between the two nations' dominant political forces.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), hosted H.E. Xie Chuntao, Executive Vice President of the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at the CPP's headquarters in Phnom Penh.
The meeting followed a 2024 invitation and focused on "party-to-party cooperation," as stated by CPP spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith. H.E. Xie Chuntao, a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee, highlighted that the visit aimed to consolidate a "close and cooperative partnership" through increased personnel exchanges and human resource development.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed the iron-clad friendship between the two countries and called for expanded joint capacity-building programmes between the two parties.
