Phnom penh: Cambodia is hosting the regional qualifying event of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Asia 14 and Under Development Championships 2026, from Feb. 3 to 14 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the international tennis tournament has attracted more than 60 participants, including coaches and athletes from 12 countries. The top two teams from this Phnom Penh qualifier will progress to the final round of the development championships scheduled for 2027.
This event will be a great opportunity for Cambodian players to gain experience competing against other athletes in the region and develop their capacity for major international competitions in the future, said Mr. Klaing Ponlork, Cambodian coach.
The 12 participating countries include host Cambodia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
