Cambodia Records Significant Investment Surge with 33 Projects in July

Phnom penh: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees have collectively approved and registered 33 investment projects totaling approximately US$525 million in July 2026. These developments are poised to create around 17,000 jobs for the local population.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the CDC was responsible for registering 23 of these investment projects, which accounted for the majority of the investment capital at approximately US$494 million. These projects alone are expected to generate around 9,000 jobs.

In contrast, the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees registered 10 projects, contributing approximately US$31 million in investment capital and potentially creating around 8,000 jobs.

The CDC highlighted that the first seven months of 2026 saw consistent attraction of quality investment projects in Cambodia, with noticeable growth in the infrastructure and tourism sectors. These sectors have shown an increase in investment capital, indicating a positive trend in the country's economic development.
