Cambodia-Thailand-China Trilateral Meeting in Yunnan Commences

Kunming: The Cambodia-Thailand-China Trilateral Meeting kicked off in Kunming, Yunnan province, China, to address recent developments in the relationship between Cambodia and Thailand. The meeting is attended by the foreign ministers of the three nations: Prak Sokhonn of Cambodia, Sihasak Phuangketkeow of Thailand, and Wang Yi of China.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the meeting aims to encourage open and productive discussions regarding the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand. The objective is to build mutual trust, promote de-escalation, and restore peace, security, and stability along the Cambodian and Thai border areas.

In a bilateral meeting with Wang Yi, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn highlighted the traditional solidarity and enduring friendship between Cambodia and China. He praised the ongoing progress of their bilateral cooperation, which includes frequent exchanges at various levels and sectors.

Prak Sokhonn expressed appreciation for China's active role in supporting the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand. He underscored the importance of China's continued support for peaceful dispute resolution through dialogue and diplomacy, noting that it is crucial for the successful implementation of the ceasefire and the establishment of lasting peace.
