Pursat:Cambodia remains committed to furthering its infrastructure development despite achieving considerable progress over the years, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet stated.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister addressed criticisms on social media about the country's road development during the inauguration of National Road No. 10 in Veal Veng district. He acknowledged the advancements made but highlighted the ongoing need for further development to support transport, economic activities, and livelihoods.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of connecting Cambodia's waterways. Although the nation has rivers and sea access, these have not been fully integrated for efficient transport. He cited the Funan Techo Canal project, which aims to link the river system with the sea by 2028, as a means to enhance the logistics and transport network.
An Annual Progress Report by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport noted that Cambodia's road network totaled approximately 20,734 kilometres in 2025, marking an increase of about 426 kilometres from the previous year. This expansion plays a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods, agricultural products, and passengers, thus contributing to national economic growth.
