Hong Kong:Cambodia secured a 1-0 victory over Myanmar in their opening Group B match of the Division 2 FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 at Kai Tak Stadium on the evening of September 27.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Sin Kakada, a player from the Cambodian national team, scored the decisive goal in the 90+4th minute, earning Cambodia all three points from the match.
This victory places Cambodia at the top of Group B with three points. Myanmar, having completed their two group-stage matches with one win and one loss, also has three points and is in second place. Timor-Leste holds third place with no points.
Cambodia's final Group B match is scheduled against Timor-Leste on September 30 at Kai Tak Stadium. The winner of Group B will advance to the final to compete against the Group A winner for the Division 2 FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 title.
Group A includes hosts Hong Kong, Laos, and Brunei. As of now, Hong Kong leads the group with three points, followed by Laos, who also have three points after completing their matches. Brunei has no points.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 comprises two divisions. Division 1 includes six higher-ranked ASEAN teams and two guest teams from Asia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Division 2 consists of five lower-ranked ASEAN teams based on FIFA rankings, along with Hong Kong.
Division 2 is split into two groups: Group A with Hong Kong, Laos, and Brunei, and Group B with Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and Cambodia. The Division 2 final is set for October 3, where the Group A winner will face the Group B winner for the championship.
This tournament marks the inaugural edition of the FIFA-recognised international football competition featuring men's national teams from Southeast Asia and guest teams.
