Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Heng Sour, recently met with Mr. Chen Xiangru, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Transport Vocational and Technical College (GTVTC), to discuss and witness the signing of a significant cooperation agreement. The agreement involves GTVTC, the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC), and the Prasith Institute of Technology (PIT), focusing on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Heng Sour expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the Ministry and GTVTC, emphasizing the historical and cooperative ties between Cambodia and China that have greatly contributed to Cambodia's development. The Minister highlighted the meeting as an opportunity to further expand TVET cooperation, particularly in the field of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), which are gaining prominence in Cambodia as part of the government's renewable energy initiatives. The Minister stresse d the importance of the agreement's immediate implementation, advocating for a robust training program for teachers up to the Master's degree level in NEVs. He reiterated that TVET is fundamental to enhancing labor productivity, diversifying industries, and creating employment opportunities for Cambodian youth. Mr. Chen Xiangru conveyed his gratitude for the ongoing support from the Cambodian Ministry and outlined GTVTC's commitment to providing technical training that meets Cambodia's evolving needs. He expressed optimism about the partnership's potential to advance NEV development and improve resource management through shared experiences and expertise. Both parties affirmed their confidence that the collaboration would lay a strong foundation for practical cooperation in areas such as automotive technology and logistics, benefiting both nations.
