Cambodian Diplomat to Lead Delegation at ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Cebu

Cebu: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is set to lead a delegation to the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat (AMM Retreat) and Related Meeting in Cebu, the Philippines. The meeting is taking place at the invitation of the Philippine Foreign Minister, H.E. Ms. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this regional meeting is scheduled for January 28-29, 2026, under the theme "Navigating Our Future, Together." The retreat aims to review the progress made since the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits held in Malaysia. The discussions will focus on priorities and key deliverables under the Philippines' ASEAN Chairmanship for 2026, with a long-term goal of achieving the ASEAN Community 2045.

The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on ASEAN's external relations and its central role in the evolving regional architecture. Discussions will include regional and international issues of common interest and concern, such as developments in Myanmar.

On the sidelines of the retreat, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn is slated to hold separate meetings with some of his ASEAN counterparts. These meetings aim to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation for mutual interest and benefit.
