Phnom penh: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, has expressed the legislature's readiness to support and collaborate closely with the Embassy of Singapore in Cambodia. This initiative aims to enhance friendship and cooperation between the two nations for their mutual benefit.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the statement was made during a meeting with H.E. Pang Chee Wee, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Cambodia, at the National Assembly Palace on June 5. Samdech warmly welcomed the ambassador, expressing confidence that his diplomatic mission would deepen bilateral cooperation and elevate relations across legislative and executive institutions.
Samdech emphasized that Cambodia and Singapore, as small states in Southeast Asia, share common values such as upholding international law, protecting peace, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and promoting multilateralism. She stressed the importance of maintaining a rules-based international order amid global challenges.
Ambassador Pang Chee Wee thanked Samdech for the reception and highlighted the growing relationship between the two countries under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Singapore Prime Minister H.E.
