Cambodian National Assembly President Congratulates Korean and Cypriot Counterparts on National Days

Phnom Penh:President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, has extended her congratulations to her counterparts in the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Cyprus in recognition of their national days on October 1, 2026.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Khuon Sudary sent separate messages on September 28 to H.E. Cho Jeong-Sik, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and H.E. Ms. Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus.

In her message to Korea, she extended her warmest congratulations to H.E. Cho Jeong-Sik, his colleagues, and the Korean people on the commemoration of National Day and Armed Forces Day. She highlighted the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Cambodia and Korea, emphasizing the importance of people-to-people exchanges.

Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed her belief that the ties between Cambodia and Korea would continue to deepen for mutual benefit. She also reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Korea through bilateral and multilateral frameworks for lasting peace and prosperity.

In her message to Cyprus, she congratulated H.E. Ms. Annita Demetriou, her colleagues, and the Cypriot people on the 66th Anniversary of Independence Day. She noted the strengthening friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Cyprus over the years.

The Cambodian National Assembly President expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries, particularly between their legislatures, would further deepen for mutual benefit. She also reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to promoting a rules-based international order and inclusive multilateralism for enduring peace and prosperity.
