Civilian Residential Area in Poipet Targeted by Thai Shelling

Poipet: Thai forces intensified their shelling of civilian areas in Stung Bot village, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province, this afternoon.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, at 1:37 p.m., the Thai military fired four shells, and another shell at 2:07 p.m. into a densely populated residential area within the village.

The Ministry of National Defence emphasised that these actions constitute indiscriminate attacks by the Thai military and represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

The Ministry stated that Cambodian forces continue to monitor the situation closely, asserting their commitment to protect the territorial integrity of Cambodia. 'We will defend our national dignity with courage and unwavering resolve, at any cost, without succumbing to coercion or intimidation in any form,' it reaffirmed.
