De Mello Coffee to launch 1st outlet in S. Korea this month

SEOUL, - Canada-based De Mello Coffee said Thursday it will launch its first outlet in South Korea later this month amid growing demand for specialty coffee among local consumers.

De Mello Coffee, established by South Korean native Felix Cha in Toronto in 2014, said it will open the first store in the Guro Digital Complex in Seoul, with the second and third stores set to open soon or later.

The Canadian coffee brand will sell a medium-sized Americano at 3,500 won (US$2.7), which is lower than the 4,500 won for a regular-sized Americano sold at Starbucks outlets.

De Mello Coffee operates coffee shops and supplies roasted coffee beans to local clients in Canada.
