Pursat: Thai military forces today launched attacks using 105mm and 155mm artillery shells, indiscriminately and brutally targeting civilian residential areas in Pursat province, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the attack occurred at 12:33 p.m. in Thmar Da commune, Veal Veng district, as stated by the Ministry. The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia condemns these acts, describing them as inhumane and in violation of international agreements. The attacks are considered a grave breach of the Ceasefire Agreement and the Joint Declaration between Cambodia and Thailand, signed on Oct. 26, 2025, under the witness of U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, in his capacity as ASEAN Chair.
Since Dec. 7, the Thai military has reportedly conducted repeated attacks on Cambodian territory in Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat provinces. These have involved heavy weapons, F-16 fighter jets, and toxic gas, causing civilian casualties, damaging homes, temples, and health centers. The attacks have forced the closure of hundreds of schools and displaced thousands of civilians along the border.
