Geneva: The following is the full Intervention by H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Feb. 24, 2026:
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn addressed the council, focusing on Cambodia's commitments to human rights and its continued cooperation with international human rights mechanisms. He highlighted the progress made by Cambodia in areas of human rights and reiterated the country's dedication to improving conditions and adhering to international standards.
Prak Sokhonn also emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing global human rights challenges. He underscored Cambodia's efforts to align with the objectives of the Human Rights Council and its commitment to engage constructively with other member states.
The Deputy Prime Minister further acknowledged the work of the Human Rights Council and encouraged ongoing dialogue and collaboration to effectively tackle human rights issues. He concluded by reiterating Cambodia's pledge to uphold human rights and work towards sustainable development.
