Phnom penh: H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, received a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Executive Senior Vice President Ms. MIYAZAKI Katsura, during her official visit to Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting underscored the successful cooperation between the Cambodian government and Japan through JICA. This collaboration has played a significant role in Cambodia's rehabilitation and socio-economic development across various sectors. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol acknowledged the impact of JICA's support, particularly highlighting the Sihanoukville Deep Sea Port expansion project. This project, financed by JICA, is anticipated to be a key economic gateway, enhancing Cambodia's regional competitiveness.
Ms. MIYAZAKI Katsura commended Cambodia's rapid development and reiterated JICA's dedication to strengthening its partnership with Cambodia. She emphasized JICA's focus on improving the logistics system, developing infrastructure, and promoting investment. Moreover, she highlighted the importance of enhancing service delivery to investors by empowering the Business Co-creation Team to address Cambodia's practical needs effectively.
Both parties expressed their commitment to maintaining close collaboration to achieve further milestones for the mutual benefit of both nations' peoples.
