Seoul: Twenty South Korean companies are poised to enter or expand in Cambodia, targeting high-demand sectors like education, healthcare, real estate, and cosmetics. During a Cambodia-Korea business dinner held in Seoul on Wednesday evening, H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, the Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, met with over 20 South Korean executives to discuss emerging opportunities in the Kingdom. The gathering aimed to provide South Korean business leaders with a comprehensive overview of Cambodia's current trade and investment climate.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the participating firms primarily represent sectors such as education, healthcare, real estate, and cosmetics, all of which are seeing rising demand in the Cambodian market. Ambassador Khuon Phon Rattanak encouraged the executives to explore Cambodia's high-potential industries, specifically highlighting agriculture and food processing, logistics and construction, tourism, and green energy, particularly via Official Development Assistance projects.
The Ambassador emphasized that Cambodia serves as a strategic gateway for South Korean firms looking to scale within Southeast Asia. He noted that investors can leverage the robust frameworks of the ASEAN Free Trade Area, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the bilateral Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA) to gain competitive access to the wider regional market.
