Siem reap: Over 474,000 foreign tourists visited the Angkor Archaeological Park in the first eight months of 2026, marking a 29.07 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025, as reported by the state-owned Angkor Enterprise.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the park generated more than US$22.5 million from ticket sales during this period, reflecting a 27.43 percent decline compared to the previous year. In August 2026 alone, the park welcomed 46,770 foreign tourists, which resulted in US$2.21 million in revenue, both figures down by 8.02 percent and 8.47 percent respectively from August 2025.
The Angkor Archaeological Park, located in Siem Reap province in northwest Cambodia, spans 401 square kilometers and is home to 91 ancient temples constructed between the 9th and 13th centuries. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992, the park remains the most visited and iconic tourist attraction in Cambodia.
