Information Minister Accuses Thai Military of Deliberate Attacks on Cambodian Civilians

Phnom penh: The Thai military has been accused of launching aggressive attacks against Cambodia, reportedly targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure using a variety of heavy weapons, including fighter jets and cluster munitions.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, stated that over the past eight days, the Thai military has deliberately targeted civilian areas, impacting homes, villages, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and Buddhist temples. The attacks, which have utilized heavy weaponry, aerial bombardment, cluster bombs, and toxic smoke, have tragically led to the deaths of 11 Cambodian civilians, including an infant, and have left 59 others injured as of December 14, 2025.

As reported by the Minister, the evening of December 14, 2025, marked a significant displacement crisis, with the number of people forced to leave their homes due to the Thai military's actions reaching 120,814 families. This displacement affects approximately 403,601 individuals, including 208,266 women and 97,209 children.

H.E. Neth Pheaktra emphasized that Thailand must be held accountable for its aggressive actions against Cambodian territory. He highlighted that the deliberate targeting of civilians constitutes a serious violation of international law and fundamental human rights.
